  • E-mail and Internet Messaging (IM) were used 0% of the time
  • 100% of students responded “yes” to understanding and having ability in all of the following: general computer use, Internet, PowerPoint, word processing, using Internet search engines, and e-mail

Interpretation of Data

  • 67% of the technology activities rated over 50% of use during classroom instruction
  • Teachers assessments indicated that most of the computer use in the classroom was primarily for teachers
  • Discrepancy: students were clearly instructed to assess personal classroom use; students may have responded with consideration to what teachers use for the benefit of student learning rather than what students actually use.
